THE WYLDER PHILOSOPHY
The Call of the Wild
Wylders are inextricably linked to nature, their instincts sharpened beyond those of ordinary men. They sense the shifts of the earth, hear whispers carried by the wind, and share a deep knowledge of the natural world.
Masters of the Forgotten Paths
Wylders relies on old Skills and Knowledge, seeking guidance from long forgotten philosophies, or using the land to make something useful.
Role in the World
They exist in the liminal space between civilization and the natural world, Observing as the world forgets the old pacts, The old ways, and the old laws. Sometimes they find each other and strengthen their bond to revive the old ways.
But one thing is certain: wherever the wilderness reclaims its hold, wherever there are signs of the old ways refuse to die, a Wylder will be there. Contributing in silence keeping the old ways alive.
MEET THE INSTRUCTOR
Hey my name is Pieter but also known as ‘THE WYLDER’ on my socials. From my early childhood I was really into {still am} disappearing into fantasy worlds trough games, movies, and books. Playing games like World of Warcraft, Skyrim, the Witcher and many more…I've always been fascinated by stories of adventure.
That fascination however also translated into a hunger for adventure. A hunger to explore the forests and mountains. Just like I love exploring fantasy worlds. I love getting lost in pure wilderness.
As a child I was always busy building dens in the woods, making campfires, bows and arrows and cutting plants down with our self made swords. Imagining they where sworn enemies.
And that is how my training began.
At seventeen I went on my first real wilderness trip with 2 other friends to camp out in nature. A fantastic experience whit a lot of mistakes and lessons to take home. Many adventures followed. Starting with stealth camping trips in Northern France to the glaciers of Iceland. To the highest mountain of Western Europe and The highlands of Scotland all the way to the Mongolian steppes where I travelled 1 month across the country with local people.
That led me to follow my true north and pursue a professional education as a Nordic Wilderness Guide.
all these things came together to one goal. one dream. and that’s where ‘THE WYLDER’ was born.
Somewhere along the journey I realised I wasn't simply learning outdoor skills. I was becoming more patient. More Resilient. More present.
That experience changed me.
‘THE WYLDER’ exists because I believe other people deserve the opportunity to experience that transformation too. A course not just focused around only Survival, Fitness, bushcraft or meditation. A course where you can BECOME someone. Someone that is at home in the wild, not just moving trough but actually deeply understanding how nature works and thriving in it.
