As part of my training, we went to the Swedish mountains for a multi-day backpacking trip in the backcountry. There would be no trails, no towns, and no connection during these seven days. It was also an interesting time of year, with changing weather conditions, so we needed to be prepared for everything from 15-degree sunny and windstill days to freezing, snowy conditions with low visibility. Good preparation was key.

We spent the first few days deep-diving into getting to know the terrain, orienteering in low visibility, learning about the local plant and animal life, and learning about Sami culture. We ended the preparation with a safety debrief and went through what to do in an emergency.

A sea kayak trip around the Archipelago in Ostrobothnia Finland. 2 days before our departure we had a crash course in sea kayaking. We learned how to safely enter and leave the kayak, learn different steering techniques and of course rescue techniques. For example what to do when you flip over your kayak and need to escape or what to do when your peer flips over his kayak.

After 2 days of very intense and demanding days we packed our boats and went to the starting point of the trip. Just before we left we noticed that the weather forecast predicted a storm rolling in on the second day.

As one of the first trips while studying at Outdoor Academy we ventured out to the south of Finland for a climbing expedition at haukkakallio. We setup a basecamp 15 minutes from the crag. Since I never actually climbed before I was a bit anxious and reserved about the whole thing. One thing I knew for sure is that I wanted to give it a proper shot.

Me and 2 other friends went to Northern France to Camp out in the Wilderness. Because it was still early spring we expected rain, sunshine, freezing temperatures and everything in between.

Me and my friends embarked on an adventure to the land of fire and ice. Iceland was on our bucketlist for so long and we finally got to visit it after a volcano had erupted. We intent do hike the Laugavegur trail. A trail filled with beautiful vistas, glaciers, hotsprings and geysirs.

One of my largest trips to date and also one of the toughest. Me and my friends had been dreaming about this hike for a while now. After a failed attempt 2 years due to inproper planning and lack of experience. It was time to give it another go. Better prepared mentally and physically we started this adventure.
